Safeguarding People, Environment and Property in Chile’s Main Airport
Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport
Santiago, Chile
Challenge:
Chile’s seismic activity poses a threat to the many buried fuel lines that run through Santiago’s airport, increasing the risk of ruptures and leaks. Our challenge was to provide continuous monitoring and precise leak detection to minimize potential impact
Solution:
For airports, quick and accurate leak detection is vital. We utilized the TT5000-HS sensor cable, with its conductive polymer technology, which is sensitive to liquid hydrocarbons such as gasoline, jet fuel, diesel and fuel oils. Our system monitors the entire fuel line network, detecting the location of a leak to approximately one meter.
