nVent Selected as 2023 Minnesota Large Manufacturer of the Year by Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal

nVent was announced by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal as its 2023 Large Manufacturer of the Year. nVent was chosen as the honoree in its category based on our contributions to the regional economy and the Minnesota area.

The award includes financial performance, job creation, business strategy, growth, sustainability, innovation and community involvement in its selection criteria. At nVent, our strategy for growth focuses on high-growth verticals where trends are driving opportunity faster than GDP. This includes areas like data and telecom solutions, energy storage, power utilities and renewable energy, industrial solutions, commercial building solutions and e-mobility. We support these industries with innovative new products—last year we launched 59 new products and had a 20% product vitality. Additionally, more than 75 percent of our new product funnel will have a positive ESG impact.

In 2022 we reported $2.9B in revenue, up from $2.2B when we became a new public company in 2018. Last year, we grew our sales 20%, on top of 18% growth in 2021. We conduct a large portion of our manufacturing for our largest segment—Enclosures—in Anoka, Minnesota. We employ 1,277 people at our Anoka site and 227 in our corporate office in St. Louis Park.

Promoting a culture of inclusion is a cornerstone of our strategy and is woven throughout our organization. We intentionally invest in inclusion and diversity because we believe that diverse perspectives are key to our company’s ability to innovate for our customers and grow. Our Executive Leadership Team is 44% women and our board is 70% diverse. We have committed to increasing representation of women in management globally by 20% and increasing representation of racially diverse U.S. professional employees by 25% by 2025.

We form meaningful community partnerships. Rise is a nonprofit dedicated to helping people with disabilities find success in life—our site in Anoka is Rise’s largest and longest-tenured community-based jobs program site. Today, nearly 70 Rise employees work at nVent in our kitting, painting and custodial departments. Rise employees play an essential role in helping nVent meet customer commitments.

We have also made progress in reducing our own impact on natural resources. We have committed to achieving a 50% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions and reaching more than 25% renewable energy consumption by 2030. We have already decreased our CO2 emissions by 25% and increased our renewable energy usage to 12% since 2019.
