Throughout June, our Allies Employee Resource Group (ERG) held several celebrations in honor of Pride Month.
Allies is nVent’s global Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) allyship ERG. Its mission is to advance nVent’s commitment to inclusion and diversity by building awareness and breaking down barriers for LGBTQ+ employees. Allies has a vision to foster a positive, welcoming and respectful work environment for members of LGBTQ+ community and those that support them.
June is Pride Month for members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies. We celebrate the importance of fostering inclusivity, equality and acceptance. By embracing diversity and promoting understanding, we build a stronger, more vibrant workforce, where everyone feels seen, heard and respected. Together, we can create a world where everyone is free to be their authentic selves. This Pride Month, we strive to amplify LGBTQ+ voices, uplift their stories and work towards a future of equality.
On June 8, our team participated in the parade at San Mateo County’s 12th Annual Pride Celebration. Our volunteers helped set-up before the event, supported activities during the celebration and helped break down as well. This event supports LGBTQIA+ and allies in the greater San Mateo community. The nVent Foundation provided a grant to Outlet (Adolescent Counseling Services) which provides counseling services for LGTBQIA+ youth.
On May 23 and May 28, our Solon, Ohio location held two blood drives. The blood drives donated a total of 25 pints through American Red Cross.
On June 30, the Allies ERG and other employees participated in the Rainbow Run 5K at Twin Cities Pride and the Twin Cities Pride Parade. Team members ran or walked down Hennepin Ave with an option to join virtually. This year, the theme was ‘Show Your Colors 365,’ to celebrate and represent identity for everyone.
At nVent, we value all dimensions of diversity and work hard to make sure all voices are heard, respected and represented. We encourage support to LGBTQ+ colleagues by displaying allyship in the workplace. We thank our Allies ERG for their leadership during Pride Month.
