Women’s History Month at nVent

Throughout March, nVent held several celebrations globally in honor of Women’s History Month.

On March 8, we celebrated International Women’s Day, a holiday dedicated to honoring the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. This year’s theme was “Inspire Inclusion,” which encourages us collectively to forge a more inclusive world for women and celebrate women's achievements.

At our management office in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, our Global Women’s Network (GWN) ERG hosted an International Women’s Day panel discussion. The panel featured two nVent Board of Directors Members, Sherry Aaholm and Nicola Palmer, along with our Chief Marketing Officer, Martha Bennett.

Also, our APAC GWN chapter hosted an engaging International Women’s Day Panel Discussion. The event addressed how nVent employees find a work life balance in their lives. The panelists featured four nVent employees that hold various leadership roles throughout nVent.

GWN and our Connecting Cultures ERG completed a virtual event highlighting women that have won the Nobel Prize. The informative session honored the women on their revolutionary discoveries, steadfast commitment and revolutionary contributions to physics, literature, medicine, chemistry and peace.

We hosted many other celebrations all over the world. There were seminars, games, photo booths, food and more. Most importantly, these celebrations gave us all the opportunity to connect with and appreciate each other.

We participated in Women’s History Month events outside the company too. nVent Sales & Distributor Excellence Leader Katie Werner, was a panelist on the National Association of Electrical Distributors webinar in the iBelongHere Voices Series. The webinar focused on Women’s History Month. Katie and the other panelists explored strategies for fostering inclusivity and equal opportunity for underrepresented individuals in the electrical distribution industry. They shared methods they have implemented to create a more equitable and inclusive work environment.

Finally, on March 27, nVent was the presenting partner of Women’s History Night at the Minnesota Timberwolves basketball game. Approximately 500 nVent employees from Anoka and St. Louis Park attended the game wearing nVent-Timberwolves co-branded, “Electrify the Game” t-shirts. The partnership celebrates women changing the game across industries in which they participate. The game was the first major milestone in nVent’s newly-announced partnership with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx.
