August was our Connecting Cultures’ Employee Resource Group (ERG) celebration month. The group celebrated five years as an ERG. At nVent, celebration months are an opportunity to honor and bring awareness to the initiatives of our ERGs.
The mission of Connecting Cultures is to provide an educational, safe and open environment for any individual to help broaden their understanding and appreciation of multiculturalism, inclusion and diversity. Connecting Cultures members have the opportunity to connect with co-workers from around the world, learn leadership skills, help spread inclusion and diversity and multiculturalism across nVent globally and give back to the community with volunteering. Connecting Cultures has membership from countries around the world including China, the United States, India, Mexico and many more.
Throughout the month, Connecting Cultures highlighted the history of the ERG and shared information about some exciting future events. To kick off its celebration month, the ERG introduced ‘Meet nVent’ to its members, providing access to a series of presentations highlighting nVent regions from around the world. The series offered insightful information on different country backgrounds including travel tips, culture and history, nVent location spotlights and more.
During Connecting Culture’s monthly meeting, nVent Chief Technology Officer and Connecting Cultures’ ERG Executive Sponsor Aravind Padmanabhan shared about his professional background and positive experience with the ERG. The meeting attendees had the opportunity to learn more about him and ask some questions. The ERG Leadership Team shared background on themselves as well.
