Spanish Power Plants
Inhabitants from Andalucia, Spain receive 100% renewable electricity from the first Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plant in Europe, named Andasol.
Parabolic collectors absorb heat from the sun to produce steam and finally 100% renewable electricity. Excess heat is stored in a molten salt mixture at 260-300°C.
During maintenance work, nVent RAYCHEM heat tracing systems keep the molten salt mixture at its operational temperature, so that the CSP plant stays in top condition.
